ABOUT ME
As an artist, my work is motivated by a childlike love of objects. I challenge myself to elevate often unseen objects and ideas and bring them to a place they can be inspected, admired and cherished. I’m a lover of small things, old things, textures, metaphors and challenging the norm. Kellertür is a way for me to bring together many aspects of my purpose as an artist in a way that I can share.
I studied Fine Art at Brighton University, and spent a lot of time constructing compositions, fascinated by the relationship between shapes and objects.
I lived in Berlin for 7 years, where I became obsessed with collections and my office-sized photocopier. I worked with paper and objects, which I used to articulate visual metaphors, representing habit patterns and visceral intimacy.
After exhibiting regularly around Berlin in groups and solo shows, I realised I needed to use a more solid and tangible material to hold my concepts, and I began working with metal. This led me to start making objects that can be exhibited by being worn.
